From search to deposit release, in one afternoon.
Stufflet replaces the rental counter with a neighbour, a QR code and a photo record both sides sign off on.
The whole lifecycle, step by step.
Ten steps, most of them automatic. You do three things: book, pick up, return.
- 1
Book
Pick the tool, choose dates, and review the price breakdown including the refundable deposit.
- 2
Payment authorized
Your card is authorized for the rental and deposit. Nothing is captured until pickup.
- 3
Host notified
The host accepts in one tap. Most respond within an hour.
- 4
Pickup instructions
Address, pickup window and anything to bring (a hose, a truck, a trailer hitch).
- 5
QR handoff
You scan the host’s code. Stufflet records the time, serial, condition and accessories.
- 6
Use the tool
Get the job done. Message the host from the booking if anything comes up.
- 7
Return
Bring it back inside the window. Snap four photos in the app.
- 8
Inspection
Stufflet compares pickup and return photos and flags anything new for the host.
- 9
Deposit released
Clean return? Deposit released automatically within minutes.
- 10
Review
Rate the tool, the host and the accuracy of the listing. They rate you too.
A digital chain of custody for every handoff.
Both people open the booking. The renter scans the host’s code. Everything about the tool at that moment is recorded, and both confirm.

Four photos out. Four photos back.
Both sides photograph the tool at pickup and again at return, and both confirm in the app. If the host reports damage, that record is what settles the deposit, so “you broke it” / “no I didn’t” becomes a photo comparison, not an argument.
Listing takes two minutes.
Snap a photo and Stufflet does the typing.

Clear rules instead of fine print.
Stufflet is the marketplace, not the insurer. Here is exactly how a rental is protected, and by whom.
Deposit held by Stripe
The host sets a refundable deposit. It is authorized on the renter’s card before pickup and released after a clean return.
Photo record
Four photos at pickup, four at return, both sides confirm. That record decides what happens to the deposit.
Renter responsibility
The renter is responsible for the tool from pickup to return: damage beyond normal wear, loss and theft.
Host responsibility
Hosts list tools they own, in safe working order, with instructions. Hosts carry their own insurance.
Stufflet does not provide insurance or coverage of any kind. Claims are settled from the deposit. Anything beyond it is between host and renter.
